The Parable Of The Prodigal Son - Luke 15:11-32

This is one of Jesus' most famous parables, and yet so often we miss the weight of what Jesus is saying here. The point of this parable is not the rebellion of the younger son or even the self-righteousness of the older son, but rather the grace and compassion of the father. Jesus conveys to us that God warmly embraces a sinner who repents, and the call for us to is join in with heaven and celebrate when one sinner turns to Christ.
