By the finished work of Jesus, those who belong to God have been reconciled. This is a theologically loaded word and most likely does not get as much attention as it should. Jesus has reconciled, the sinner who comes to Him in faith, entirely to renewed fellowship with God. There is no longer a chasm between the Christian and Christ. Union is the fruit of Christ's reconciliation and this is the heart of the Gospel.
